It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her bow and seven world titles have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fail again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was out the team needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
